Financial Administrator & Property Manager - Owen Sound, Ontario

Reporting to the Controller in Owen Sound, ON, the Financial Administrator & Property Manager will be responsible for company credit card purchases, assisting in the processing of payroll and financial reporting, property management of Old Port City Holdings, and various administrative duties supporting the Finance Department and AKA Group of Companies.

Experience & Educational Requirements:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a Degree or Diploma in Business Administration or Accounting or equivalent combination of training and experience suitable to the position
  • Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or payroll is considered an asset

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other:

  • Applications must be proficient at an advanced level in the use of MS Office products: Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience using QuickBooks and other computerized accounting systems/software
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse workload while prioritizing time and resources to meet deadlines across multiple projects

Industrial Electrical and Control Draftsperson - Poole's Corner, Prince Edward Island

We currently have an opportunity for an Industrial Electrical and Control Draftsperson based in Poole’s Corner, PEI.   

For this position, we are looking for candidates with extensive training and experience using AutoCAD to produce detailed and complex designs, drawings, schematics and related technical information of electrical equipment and systems.

Applicants should have a post-secondary education from an accredited AutoCAD program and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related field.  An equivalent combination of education/experience will be considered.

In order to be considered for this role, applicants should also have:

  • Experience producing industrial electrical control schematics, power systems one lines, and extractable drawings;
  • Extensive knowledge of drafting standards and CAD techniques (advanced level in AutoCAD);
  • Proven intermediate level proficiency in the use of MS Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, Project and Access;
  • Experience developing, producing and modifying schematics, checking and verifying design drawings conform to specifications and design data, completing documentation packages and producing drawing sets; and
  • Experience in industrial applications and producing electrical schematics and drawings is considered an asset.

Office Administrator - Owen Sound, Ontario

We currently have an opportunity for an Office Administrator based in Owen Sound, ON.   

For this position, we are looking for candidates experience providing front-line reception, general office administrative support and bookkeeping/accounting experience is considered an asset.

In order to be considered for this role, applicants should have:

  • Two (2) years of experience working in general office administration or a related role;

Electrical Engineer / Technologist - Stratford and Poole's Corner, Prince Edward Island

This is an exciting and challenging role that will involve the incumbent in a broad range of engineering activities from design through to commissioning. Working in a team environment, you would be involved in Systems Design, Automation, Control and Instrumentation, Systems Integration, Electronic Design and Power Systems Design and implementation.  

You should be an Electrical/Electronics Engineer or Technologist, with five to seven years experience. Candidates with a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and with expertise across a range of technologies would be ideal for this position. Project management experience would be an asset, but in some cases less experienced candidates with enthusiasm and a good record of academic achievement may be considered. AKA stresses the importance of technical documentation to support our projects and therefore strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for these roles. Leadership and good client and interpersonal skills are highly valued by AKA.

 

Manufacturing Technician - Stratford and Poole's Corner, Prince Edward Island

Manufacturing Technicians will be expected to perform a wide range of tasks which may include the mechanical assembly of electrical cabinets and panels, wiring, operating shop machinery (manual and power operated), and general housekeeping in the shop. 

Applicants should have a certificate/diploma in Industrial Electrician Technology (or a related field) or have an equivalent combination of training and experience. Registration as an Industrial Electrician Apprentice is considered an asset.

In order to be considered for this role, applicants should have:

  • The ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, electrical code specifications;
  • The skills/abilities required for the mechanical assembly of electrical control panels/cabinets;
  • Experience wiring electrical control panels.

Receptionist and Purchasing Clerk - Montague, Prince Edward Island

The Receptionist and Purchasing Clerk is responsible for a wide range of administrative and customer service-oriented tasks including but not limited to: greeting visitors and clients,  answering the telephones and taking messages, performing administrative duties, performing basic purchasing clerk duties and basic facility maintenance as needed.

Ideal candidates for this role:

  • Have a minimum 1-year college diploma in Office Administration or related field;
  • Are proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and a minimum 40wpm keyboarding ability;
  • Have past experience in office administration and reception;
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Past work experience in a purchasing role would be considered an asset.

Mechanical Engineer - Stratford, Prince Edward Island

This is an exciting and challenging role that will involve the incumbent in a broad range of engineering. Working in a team environment, you would be involved in Reliability Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Composites Engineering, and Custom Engineered Solutions.

You should be an a Junior Mechanical Engineer, 2-5 years experience, with the following attributes:

  • Willingness to travel to various industrial clients, potentially to drilling platforms & other marine environments around the globe;
  • Willingness to work autonomously (self motivated);
  • Comfortable with developing and supporting a client base; 
  • Some programming skills.

Material Resource Coordinator - Poole's Corner, Prince Edward Island

The Material Resource Coordinate (MRC) will be responsible for inventory management and purchasing at the Poole’s Corner facility. The MRC will work with the Purchasing and Logistics teams and report to the Manager of Engineering Support.

The MRC will coordinate with the Engineering Support team to ensure that incoming products are received and managed appropriately and materials are ready and available for production as and when required. The MRC will also be responsible for tracking orders and ensuring that late orders and late deliveries are followed-up in an effort to minimize delays. 

Additionally, the MRC will be responsible for coordinating with internal clients, making recommendations for improvement, investigating and monitoring the implementation of changes to the purchasing process.

For this position, we are looking for candidates with relevant experience in inventory management and/or purchasing (other related experience will be considered). 

Applicants should have a high school diploma (or equivalent).  A certificate, diploma or degree in Office Administration or a related field is considered an asset.  An equivalent combination of related training and experience will also be accepted.  

In order to be considered for this role, applicants must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Strong computer skills including use of the suite of Microsoft Office applications are required; experience using All Orders would be an asset
  • Excellent personal organization and business administration skills;
