Technical Training
Through our extensive experience not only in design, system application, and maintenance, but also as the end-user, we are able to provide comprehensive technical, vocational and safety training, coordinated and provided to industry at all levels. Whether in the formal setting or through the use of innovative self-instructional media, we design, develop and deliver customized programs that meet clients’ specific technical training needs.
System-specific training courses provide detailed instruction on theoretical and practical aspects of particular systems to develop the operational and diagnostic skills of participants.
Casualty training employs and tests knowledge of earlier instruction through simulated and real-time faults of all critical aspects of operation of installed systems. We design and provide Participant Training Manuals and Workbooks for classroom use and future reference, both in print and CD-ROM versions.
AKA also specializes in the delivery of “Train the Trainer” programs, providing methodologies and facilitation techniques to enable clients to cost-effectively address their own internal training needs and conduct on-going professional development of their engineering staff.
As a complement to our training and documentation products, AKA also delivers computer-based training (CBT) that is integrated with our E-DOC product and designed to provide an on-going instructional platform for life cycle support of integrated automation systems.
CBT components have been developed for each logical level of information (overview, procedures, system, subsystem, function, device, system integration, etc.). They include but are not limited to:
- Traditional system-specific review questions associated with section or information levels meant to test the user’s understanding of the design philosophy, system functionality, procedures, etc. This area provides an output for standard course content as well as on-line participation within the utility;
- Linked CBT applications providing a continuous self-paced learning environment for participants;
- Access to multi-media info packets on the various system components, including examples for maintenance, troubleshooting and procedure-based activities; and
- Audience-targeted tagging of training components allowing for tailored output and access dependent on the knowledge level of the user (all, basic, intermediate and advanced).
This system is capable of producing current (in sync with live documentation system) training material on demand.
